We have accomplished a lot so far in 2017, including a successfully medical mission in Mae Hong Son during February 20 – 24, 2017 where we performed 72 treatments, healing smiles and changing lives of patients, families and communities. Hopefully, this positive trend will continue for the rest of the year. The next major activity for Operation Smile Thailand is the planned medical mission in the Republic of the Union of Myanmar in which we targeting to treat 100 patients during May 7-14, 2017 at 300 Bedded Hospital, Pyin Oo Lwin.

Meanwhile, in this e-newsletter, read about the various Operation Smile activities made possible by our generous sponsors and volunteers, including our 2016 summary, Bright Smiles & Happy Hearts (BSHH) performance in 2016, Smile Merchandises and Student Programs update. Also, please reflect on the touching story on how Operation Smile has helped changed the life of one-year girl born in a remote village in the Republic of the Union of Myanmar. Smile Carnival 2017

Similar to our annual “Colour Miles for Smiles” event, the Smile Carnival on April 1, 2017 was a joint charity fundraising event organized by 12 international schools across Bangkok. This charity event helped raise awareness about Operation Smile and student Smile clubs and raise funds for procedures and surgeries for patients in Thailand who were born with facial deformities such as a cleft lip or cleft palate. Guests paid an entrance fee to enter the Carnival grounds in exchange for unlimited food, drinks and games. Students raised a whopping 1 million baht on their very first Smile Carnival and all proceeds goes towards Operation Smile Thailand.
